Alberto G. Schneeberger, MD
Dr Schneeberger studied medicine at the University of Berne and completed his basic orthopaedic training in Berne. He specialised in shoulder and elbow surgery through fellowships at the Mayo Clinic (elbow surgery) in Minnesota, USA; the University of Paris (orthopaedic and reconstructive surgery) in France; the University of Hong Kong (orthopaedic surgery upper extremity); and the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Taipei (reconstructive surgery) in Taiwan. He was consultant of shoulder and elbow surgery at the University of Zurich from 1997–2004 and still maintains an an appointment as “privatdozent” at the University of Zurich.
Dr Schneeberger has extensive training and knowledge in shoulder and elbow surgery. With his scientific research projects, he has significantly contributed to the improvement of shoulder and elbow surgery. He has twice won the Charles Neer Award of the American Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, and won the Didier Patte Prize of the European Society for Surgery of the Shoulder and Elbow. He is a member of the Swiss Orthopaedic Association (SGO), European Society for Surgery of the Shoulder and the Elbow (ESSSE), and the Society of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES).
